About the Bishop Forson School Complex
Overall Goals of Pagus:Africa in association with the Bishop Forson School Complex:
- To assist the school in providing a quality education to children from Pre K-8 in this region.
- To provide services for needy children in the community. These include housing and care, food, medical services, and a quality education.
- To foster a caring community focused on service and possibility. A big part of the curriculum includes focus on how children give back to their communities and the importance of self-reliance and personal responsibility. It is our belief that this focus can have a profound and lasting impact.
- To promote community awareness and inspire parents of school children to contribute to continual improvement of their school.
- To assist the school to be economically viable for the future.
School Background :The Bishop Forson School Complex opened in 2003 with six teachers and eight pupils. Today the school provides a quality education to more than 250 children who live in the rural and deprived communities in the Kpando District along the Volta Lake. 20 of these children currently live on campus in a newly constructed boarding facility, many of them orphaned.
The school was founded by Rev. Forson Glover, who grew up in a rural community and faced many challenges in his quest for an education.

Electricity was installed in June 2007.
Meals are prepared for all the school children and their teachers. Farming projects are underway to help keep costs affordable.

Children learn the importance of good hygiene. First Aid is given to pupils who are ill. If the situation is beyond First Aid, they are referred to the nearest clinic or hospital in Kpando which is about 7km from the school. In 2009 a small infirmity was added.
